Yesterday was one of those incredible days which began with laughing with an old friend and ended in crying with a new one. It left me feeling extremely lucky in friendship. To that end, I’d like to share a few quotes on that elusive topic of friendship:

 “Only your real friends will tell you when your face is dirty.” 

“Hold a true friend with both your hands.”

“Friends are relatives you make for yourself.”  

“She is a friend of mind. She gather me, man. The pieces I am, she gather them and give them back to me in all the right order. It’s good, you know, when you got a woman who is a friend of your mind.”

 “Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art…It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things that give value to survival.”

And finally, possibly my favorite:

“The friend is the man who knows all about you and still likes you.”
